Voltage surges occur when the voltage abruptly increases to a very high value in a short period of time. In order to overcome this problem, standard electrical protection equipment is the best option to protect electronic equipment and household appliances. Various designs of protectors are available that allow users to connect multiple tools or devices to one electrical outlet, depending on their location and positioning, as well as their electronic specifics.
The issue with the design of this electrical voltage protector, which was commissioned by Elbiz, is a protective design for use in the category of household and office appliances. Electronic equipment and household appliances, such as refrigerators, dishwashers, washing machines, air conditioners, video, and audio systems, are protected from these devices. Voltage protectors are designed without cables and come in one and two socket types.
Creating formal innovation in product design compared to Iranian and foreign examples in the design of this product family is considered one of this product’s main design parameters. In terms of performance and ease of use, the standard distance between the two sockets has been considered in such a way that the two plugs can be easily installed next to each other without interference. The overall dimensions of the protector have been considered in such a way that it does not take up much space to be placed behind electronic appliances such as washing machines and dishwashers.
The scenario related to the assembly and repairs of the electrical protector is considered in the detailed design process in such a way that the product is assembled by the technicians in the factory with higher efficiency. The placement and stability of the electrical protector when connecting to the outlet on the wall and installing and removing the plugs from the protector are among the parameters considered in the design.
Voltage protection device design has been influenced by current trends, primarily in a minimal or minimalistic way. Formally, the upper surface of the protector has a smooth and uniform surface that gradually divides into three parts, and a simple vertical form that allows enough space for the sockets to be located inside. Curvatures on the back of the protector provide a good grip and allow the user to connect and disconnect more easily.
