Industrial design plays a significant role in improving usability, user experience, and the professional identity of medical equipment. In the design of the Pars Probe Gamma Probe device, the primary focus of the project was on the main body enclosure and the probe holder. These components not only protect the internal system but also directly influence the user’s interaction with the product and the perceived quality of the device. The goal of this project was to create a modern, functional, and visually balanced medical product aligned with the design language of advanced healthcare equipment. This project was developed at EKAS Design Studio by Sina Gavili, recognized as one of the notable industrial design studios in Iran and the Middle East.
During the design process, special attention was given to achieving a lightweight and visually balanced form. The use of clean surfaces, controlled volumes, and minimal unnecessary details resulted in a more professional and refined appearance. Reducing the visual weight of the device enhances portability and usability in clinical environments while also conveying a sense of advanced technology and precision.
One of the key aspects of this project was ergonomics and the optimization of the user’s viewing angle. The angle of the front panel and display was carefully designed to provide clear visibility of information during operation without causing user fatigue or requiring uncomfortable body posture adjustments. This ergonomic approach improves both user comfort and operational efficiency in medical environments.
The probe holder was also designed with accessibility and ease of use in mind. Its placement allows the user to quickly and comfortably position or remove the probe during operation. In addition to functionality, the holder’s form was designed to integrate seamlessly with the overall product language, contributing to the visual unity and coherence of the device.
Another important consideration in this project was ease of assembly, maintenance, and servicing. The body structure was developed to allow easier access to internal components, simplifying both assembly and repair processes. Reducing structural complexity and using engineering-driven forms helped optimize manufacturing while lowering maintenance and service costs.
Alongside functional considerations, the visual aesthetics and medical product identity played a major role in the overall design. The use of soft lines, integrated surfaces, and modern geometric forms creates a clean and sophisticated appearance that communicates precision, reliability, hygiene, and advanced technology. The overall design language was developed to establish a strong professional identity while maintaining harmony with contemporary medical environments and healthcare equipment.
