Delup Water Purification Design

Due to the unique molecular structure of water, which makes it one of the most powerful natural solvents, ensuring the safety of drinking water has become a major concern in urban life. Although a significant portion of contaminants is removed during municipal water treatment processes, the existence of aging pipeline infrastructures and the infiltration of secondary sediments and pollutants into the water can negatively affect its quality. Therefore, the use of household water purification systems has emerged as an effective and essential solution for consumers.

The Delup water purification device was designed to address this need through an approach focused on efficient and cost-effective industrial design. In this project, product design services were utilized to develop a device capable of removing suspended particles, sediments, chlorine, unpleasant odors, and undesirable tastes, while also remaining affordable for end users without compromising performance.

The primary challenge in designing this product was reducing the final production cost without sacrificing functionality or aesthetic quality. For this reason, the design process followed Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles, employing low-cost manufacturing methods and minimizing the number of components. The internal layout of the device was carefully engineered to optimize the arrangement of filters and components, maintain proper performance, and minimize occupied space. The body form was also designed with consideration for installation environments such as kitchens and compact spaces, allowing the device to integrate seamlessly with other household appliances and its surrounding environment.

Throughout the development process, industrial design services were applied comprehensively and professionally. From market analysis and user-needs assessment to mechanical design, 3D modeling, material selection, and manufacturing process evaluation, every stage aimed to create a practical and user-friendly product. One of the key strengths of this design is the easy access to internal components and filters without the need to move the device, enhancing usability and reducing maintenance costs for consumers.

In addition, the ergonomic design of the water flow path and filter placement improves purification efficiency and extends the lifespan of consumable parts. The color, texture, and overall body form were selected in accordance with the clean and hygienic nature of water purification equipment, conveying a sense of cleanliness, comfort, and trust to users.

The Delup device is a successful example of an industrial product developed through the integration of industrial design principles and a deep understanding of user needs. It demonstrates that even under strict economic constraints, it is possible to create a competitive, efficient, and aesthetically refined product through professional product design services. Beyond the domestic market, this device also has the potential to compete internationally and stands as an example of intelligent industrial design in the field of water purification equipment.
