Mobility features such as wheels, handles, or adjustable feet further enhance usability, especially in high-traffic environments.

From an ergonomic and functional standpoint, the bin should typically have a height of 90–110 cm and a well-proportioned inlet opening of 20–25 cm with rounded, safe edges suitable for all users. A clear and intuitive waste separation system is crucial, achieved through standardized color coding, pictograms, and replaceable labels. The design language should remain minimal and consistent to ensure compatibility across various spaces, while durable hinges and magnetic closure systems improve durability and ease of use. Ultimately, beyond functionality, the design should be visually engaging to encourage correct waste separation behavior, especially in educational and shared environments.
